Week 4: How do we prepare for a graded discussion?

RI.9-10.10: By the end of grade 10, read and comprehend literary nonfiction at the high end of the grades 9-10 text complexity band independently and proficiently.

SL.9-10.1: Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grades 9-10 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively.

Do Now: Please put away electronics. Get your SB and journal out. Make sure you have something to write with.

Class Activities:
1. Review: person. Listening for persona
2. EA1: review and then survey-brainstorm
3. Socratic Packet: workshop time for generating questions/comments
