Week 6: To what extent does culture determine our identity?

RL.9-10.1: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
RL.9-10.2: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze in detail its development over the course of the text.

Day 1
Do Now: Put your phone and other personal electronics in your bag and deposit bags in the back of the room. Get your INB, your planner, and pen/pencil from your bag. Pick up your SpringBoard, head to your desk.  Turn to the NOTES section of your INB.

Class Activities:
1.Terms: Symbol, Imagery, Figurative Language (Simile, Metaphor, etc), Tone, Theme
2. "My Mother Pieced Quilts" marking the text and SIFT
3. Timed Writing 3
4. Target Practice: Reviewing EA2

HW: Indie Reading

Day 2

HW: Indie Reading. Project Due by Sept 29th, midnight.  Remember, if you turn it in a week early, by the 22nd, you get Extra Credit.
