Week 4: How do I reflect on my cultural identity?

W.9-10.2a: Introduce a topic; organize complex ideas, concepts, and information to make important connections and distinctions; include formatting (e.g., headings), graphics (e.g., figures, tables), and multimedia when useful to aiding comprehension.
W.9-10.2b: Develop the topic with well-chosen, relevant, and sufficient facts, extended definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples appropriate to the audience’s knowledge of the topic
Day 1
Do Now: Put your phone in your bag and deposit them in the back of the room.  Get your INB, your planner, and pen/pencil from your bag. Pick up your SpringBoard, head to your desk. OUTLINE IS HERE

Class Activities:
1. Library for book talk with Mrs.Arcas (20 mins)
2. Sample "Meets" Paper with mini-lesson on supporting details and conclusion
3. Writing Workshop

HW: Reflective Essay due midnight Friday.


Day 2
Do Now: Put your phone in your bag and deposit them in the back of the room.  Get your INB, your planner, and pen/pencil from your bag. Pick up your SpringBoard,  get a computer from your row, and head to your desk.

1. Sample "Meets" essay with notes (parallel structure)
2. Writing Workshop
